Morgan starred on a video that was about AIDS awareness and prevention, Safe Sex for Men and Women. Part of the money were donated to the American Foundation for AIDS Research. She is part of the Entertainment Industry's AIDS Task Force. Morgan spearheaded other fund raising projects, and she also testified on a Congressional panel about AIDS awareness. She is a member of the Board of Directors for Amfar and the Board of Governors of APLA. C. Everett Koop asked her to at times take his place at AIDS activities. She also hosted a AIDS Awareness Special with news anchorman Steve Bell. Ted Koppell interviewed Morgan twice for Nightline on AIDS. Morgan received the Emmy nomination for her extra episode in Murphy Brown written for her by Diane English. Morgan co-starred on ABC television's Your Money or Your Wife in the spring alongside Joan Rivers. Summer began in the form of Murder At The PTA Luncheon that was created by Von Zeerneck and Sertner. Marla Gibbs and Cindy Williams also appeared. Morgan then appeared in Harmony Gold's production Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady, which starred Christopher Lee and Patrick McNee. Morgan also starred exclusively in the USA Network's psychological suspense-thriller, which garnered some of the strongest ratings this network's had.
